Individual Teacher Training Days - Secondary

Discover how you can use plants to bring the curriculum alive and engage pupils in learning new scientific knowledge and skills. All Kew teacher training is linked to the National Curriculum and supports Learning Outside the Classroom.

During this course you will use Kew Garden's world renowned extensive botanic collection to develop your subject and pedagogical knowledge of science and geography and use this to extend pupils' understanding at Secondary level. There will also be an opportunity to consider the practical issues involved in planning an outdoor educational visit.

There will be a focus on learning outside the classroom and the Science Capital Teaching Approach as a means of fostering pupils' understanding of science, as well as subject specific masterclasses to boost your subject knowledge of key curriculum topics.

Start time 10:30am
Finish time 3:30pm

Please meet your Kew teacher at the Schools Meeting Point, in the courtyard behind The Botanical restaurant. As your booking will allow you access to the Gardens for the day, you are free to stay on and explore the grounds.
